High school wrestling round up — Kasson-Mantorville wins Osage Duals, Algona wins first NCC girls crown

IOWA FALLS — Algona won the first official North Central Conference girls wrestling tournament on Saturday in Iowa Falls. The Bulldogs had 208 team points as they crowned six champions. Clear Lake was second with 182 points. The Lions crowned four champions — Ali Robbins at 105, Pieper Lester at 130, Alexa Heflin at 145 and Kayma Burleson at 170. Humboldt was third with 155 points, followed by Iowa Falls-Alden with 89, Hampton-Dumont-CAL with 73 and Webster City with 63.5. You can see the full results by heading to this link

OSAGE — Kasson-Mantorville won the Osage Duals boys wrestling tournament on Saturday. Kasson-Mantorville won all their matches on the day, beating Humboldt 54-21, Decorah 46-17, Davenport Assumption 49-18, Clear Lake 65-10 and Indepdnence 48-19 in Pool B, and then beating Pool A winner Osage 54-22 in the championship match. Osage was 3-1 in their pool, falling to Hampton-Dumont-CAL 38-37 but beating Hinton 39-32, Lewis Central 43-29 and Ankeny Centennial 40-33. Clear Lake lost all their matches in Pool B and finished 11th in the tournament, losing to Independence 66-17, Humboldt 59-22, Decorah 66-18, Kasson-Mantorville 65-10 and Davenport Assumption 66-18.
