Clear Lake council approves development agreement for Lake Pin & Play
CLEAR LAKE — The Clear Lake City Council last night approved a development agreement with the developers of a new bowling alley in the Surf District.
Lake Pin and Play at 514 Buddy Holly Place will feature six lanes of bowling, all-sports simulators, as well as an arcade and a full service bar and grill.
Acting City Administrator Jacob Widman says there are several incentives as part of the package. “We’ll do a forgivable loan of $350,000, an economic development grant for signage of up to $10,000, and then property tax rebate payments over a seven year period of up to $250,000.”
Councilman Bennett Smith thanked Widman for his work on getting the development agreement in place. Smith says, “Jake, thank you so much for working with the developer and owners of the business on a couple of these small items to kind of make that more amenable, and it sounds like that’s a positive for us.” Widman replied, “Yeah, we wanted to work the best for them that we could because we’re really excited about this project down there and having this entertainment facility down in that district. It’s a really exciting project to be a part of.” Smith added, “Absolutely, I totally agree. and I thank you and want to thank them, because again, whatever we can do to support them in that effort, I appreciate your work on that.”
The council unanimously approved the development agreement.
