NIACC women win, men lose at Southwestern

CRESTON — The NIACC women’s basketball team picked up a road win at Southwestern last night. The Trojans outscored Southwestern 22-3 in the opening quarter on their way to a 71-36 victory. Reggi Spotts had 21 points while Tori Miller added 15 to lead NIACC, as they improve to 16-4 overall and 7-3 in the conference.

In the men’s game, NIACC could not overcome a 44-30 halftime deficit as they fell 69-65. Four Trojans scored in double figures with Omarion Roberts leading the way with 14 points, Randy McClendon and Brayden Drea each had 13, while Adam Hackett added 11. NIACC drops to 14-6 overall and 6-4 in the conference.

Both NIACC teams host Northeast Community College on Saturday afternoon at the campus gym.
