Mason City man charged with meth dealing pleads not guilty

MASON CITY — A Mason City man has pleaded not guilty to methamphetamine dealing charges.
44-year-old Brent Weisbrod was charged with the Class B felony of possession of meth with the intent to deliver as well as the Class D felonies of control of a firearm as a convicted felon and failure to affix a drug tax stamp.
A criminal complaint states that a search warrant was executed at Weisbrod’s residence in the 1300 block of North Federal on December 27th, with authorities allegedly discovering and seizing about a quarter pound of meth and a loaded 9 millimeter handgun.
Weisbrod pleaded not guilty to the charges on Monday in Cerro Gordo County District Court, with his trial scheduled to start on February 25th. Weisbrod remains in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on a total of $35,000 cash-only bond.
