MASON CITY — The Mason City High girls wrestling team won the Class 2A Region 6 team title on Friday at home. The Riverhawks had 211 points and nine state qualifiers, five-and-a-half points better than second-place Waverly-Shell Rock to win the tournament. Clear Lake was third with 118. Tournament champions for the Riverhawks were Piper Phillips at 100, Lila Sheehan at 105, Carleigh Arjes at 120, Kallie Gibbons at 130, and Aniyah Smith at 235. Also qualifying for state as runners-up Ella Als at 110, Madeline Cornish at 115, Isobella Villarreal at 125 and Damiyah Williams at 140. For Clear Lake, they had one champion in Kayma Burleson at 170 while also qualifying for state as runners-up were Saphira Olsen at 120, Pieper Lester at 130, Alexa Heflin at 145 and Gracey Smith at 155.

OSAGE — Osage won the Class 1A regional tournament they hosted on Friday. The Green Devils won with 235 points, three champions and three runners-up. Lake Mills finished fourth with 137 points and two state qualifiers, Charles City was fifth with 129 points and two state qualifiers, Hampton-Dumont-CAL was tenth with 60 points and one state qualifier, West Fork was 11th with 54 points and one state qualifier, North Butler-Clarksville was 12th with 42 points, Northwood-Kensett was 14th with 30 points and one state qualifier.

WINTHROP — St. Ansgar finished fourth at the 1A regional tournament at East Buchanan High School on Friday. The Saints had 98 points and two state qualifiers. East Buchanan won the team title with 230 points, while Algona was second with 163.5.
