MASON CITY — #8/3A Algona held off Mason City for a 46-45 win in non-conference girls basketball last night, as you heard on 98.7 KISS Country and saw on northiowanow.com. Algona led 28-21 at half and 37-31 at the end of three quarters, but Mason City outscored the Bulldogs 14-9 in the fourth quarter to come up one point short. Zaria Falls and Machaela Trask each had 15 points while Anna Latham added 12 as Mason City falls to 13-6 overall and will travel to Waterloo East later tonight as part of a girl-boy Iowa Alliance Conference North doubleheader
