Britt plea pleads guilty to drug charge

BRITT — A Britt man has entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors on drug charges.
A criminal complaint states that 26-year-old Trinity Thompson was seen driving on 190th Street on November 21st. When Thompson allegedly saw a marked patrol vehicle, he pulled over and jumped into the passenger seat due to his driver’s license being barred. While arresting Thompson, investigators say they found a large plastic baggie containing 17.8 grams of methamphetamine in this left coat pocket.
Thompson was charged with intent to manufacture or deliver meth over five grams, a Class B felony, as well as driving while barred as an habitual offender, an aggravated misdemeanor.
Thompson had pleaded not guilty to the charges in December, but as part of a plea agreement, he pleaded guilty this week to one count of possession with the intent to deliver, a Class C felony.
Thompson is scheduled to be sentenced on April 15th in Hancock County District Court.
