Central Springs hires Ankeny associate high school principal as new superintendent

MANLY — The Central Springs Community School District has hired their next superintendent.
Wade Grinhaug currently serves as an associate principal at Ankeny High School. A release from the Central Springs district says Grinhaug has successfully led a team of 90 educators at Ankeny High School in designing and implementing a school-wide curriculum to enhance student engagement and improve academic performance.
He also supervised the opening of a new academic wing and weight room at the high school and engaged in strategic discussions on the future opening of a third high school program in the district.
Grinhaug holds a master’s degree in education leadership from Drake University and is in the process of completing his doctorate in education.
Grinhaug’s first day will be July 1st.
He’ll replace Darwin Lehmann, who was sharing superintendent responsibilities between the Central Springs and Forest City districts. The Forest City School Board in November voted to cease the sharing agreement that had been in place since 2020.
