Kaufmann re-elected Iowa GOP chair, Clear Lake’s Upmeyer re-elected as Co-Chair

DES MOINES — Jeff Kaufmann, who has been serving as the leader of the Republican Party of Iowa for the last decade, was re-elected as chairman over the weekend.

Kaufmann is now entering his sixth term as chair, and says he’s going to be more straightforward and edgy in going after Democrats as well as Republicans who don’t unite behind the party’s general election candidates.

President Trump posted a social media message on Friday stating that Kaufmann had his complete and total endorsement.

Former Speaker of the Iowa House Linda Upmeyer of Clear Lake was re-elected to serve as the party’s Co-Chair.
