Osage crowns two champions, finishes third in 1A team race at Girls State Wrestling Tournament

CORALVILLE — Osage crowned  two individual girls state champions on Friday night and they finished third in the Class 1A team race at the Girls State Wrestling Tournament.

Freshman Ainsley Hemann at 100 pounds pinned Kenadee Helscher of Wapello in 3:27. At 110, senior Gable Hemann pinned Kiersten Swart of Mount Vernon in 5:00 to take the title.

Osage had 79.5 team points, finishing third, as East Buchanan won the 1A team title with 105 points with Mount Vernon second with 94.

Destiny Kolheim of Charles City won the 155 pound Class 1A title, beating Haley Glade of Earlham 13-0. Teammate Leah Stewart lost in the 1A-190 title match to Libby Dix of Mount Vernon 1-0.
