Boys basketball roundup from Tuesday — #1/3A Clear Lake downs Iowa Falls-Alden, other scores

CLEAR LAKE — #1/3A Clear Lake trailed by two after the first quarter, but outscored Iowa Falls-Alden 49-20 in the middle two quarters on their way to an 86-44 win, as you heard on 103.7 The Fox and saw on northiowanow.com last night. With the win, Clear Lake won the North Central Conference title outright after clinching a share of the title with a win back on Friday night against St. Edmond. Thomas Meyer had 16 points, Jaxson McIntire added 15 while Carson Riser had 10. Clear Lake is now 19-0 overall and 12-0 in the conference and will travel to Hampton-Dumont-CAL on Friday.
MASON CITY — An unusual happening for the Mason City High boys basketball team. A hoop malfunction moments into the third quarter forced their home game against Des Moines East to be moved from the main gym into the fieldhouse. The Riverhawks fell to East 58-55. Mason City drops to 9-10 overall and will be off until next Monday when they host Gilbert.
