Mason City man pleads guilty to federal meth dealing charge

SIOUX CITY — A Mason City man has pleaded guilty to a federal methamphetamine dealing charge.
The US Attorney for the Northern District of Iowa’s office says 33-year-old Todd Sutton Junior pleaded guilty to one count of possession with the intent to distribute five grams or more of pure methamphetamine.
As part of a plea agreement, Sutton admitted that in the early morning hours of July 27th of last year, he was the driver of a vehicle pulled over near the intersection of 20th and South Monroe in Mason City. He was arrested for driving while barred, and while being booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail, law enforcement found a plastic baggie on him containing meth.
Sutton faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years with a possible maximum of 40 years when he’s sentenced at a later date.
