Clear Lake boys now 20-0, look for perfect regular season tonight, find out 3A substate pairings

HAMPTON — The Clear Lake boys basketball team picked up their 20th win of the season for the third straight year and sixth season out of the last seven with a 79-27 win at Hampton-Dumont-CAL last night in North Central Conference play, as you heard on 103.7 The Fox and saw on northiowanow.com. Thomas Meyer led all scorers with 21 points. Clear Lake is now 20-0 on the season and 13-0 in the conference and will look to make it a perfect regular season when they host Algona tonight at 7 o’clock. CLEAR LAKE — Clear Lake will face Hampton-Dumont-CAL again in the Class 3A substate tournament. The Lions are the top seed and get a chance to host in all three substate rounds. The winner of next Monday night’s Clear Lake and Hampton-Dumont-CAL game will face either Vinton-Shellsburg or Center Point-Urbana. The other side of the bracket, next Monday’s quarterfinals will be Benton at Solon and Webster City at Nevada. Substate semifinal games will be played on Thursday February 27th with the substate championship game slated for Monday March 3rd.
