Clear Lake faces Hampton-Dumont-CAL to open 3A boys substate play tonight
CLEAR LAKE — Class 3A and 4A boys basketball teams start post-season play tonight. In Clear Lake, the top-ranked Lions host North Central Conference rival Hampton-Dumont-CAL in a Class 3A Substate 3 quarterfinal round contest.
Clear Lake won both meetings this year handily, 87-26 in Clear Lake on January 24th and 79-27 last Monday night in Hampton. The winner of tonight’s game will face either Center Point-Urbana or Vinton-Shellsburg in the substate semifinal round on Thursday.
On the other side of the substate bracket tonight, Benton is at Solon while Webster City is at Nevada.
