Downtown assessment to take place of Clear Lake

CLEAR LAKE — The Iowa Economic Development Authority on Friday announced they would do a Downtown Assessment of Clear Lake this year.
The IEDA says the assessment will be administered by the Iowa Downtown Resource Center and is designed to help communities identify their downtown’s strengths and weaknesses as well as provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
Four to five downtown developers will spend three days in Clear Lake and visit local businesses, interview stakeholders, and conduct a public presentation.
Based on their observations, IEDA expects to prepare a comprehensive report detailing both short and long-term recommendations for enhancing Clear Lake’s downtown.
As part of the assessment process, the Iowa Downtown Resource Center will first conduct a community survey to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
Clear Lake residents will have an opportunity to share their thoughts and feedback through a pre-visit survey, which will be made available in late July.
