WAVERLY — The Mason City High girls fell in the Class 4A Region 8 semifinal at 9th-ranked Waverly-Shell Rock on Saturday night, 60-42, as you saw on northiowanow.com. Mason City finishes their season with a 17-7 record. Waverly-Shell Rock advances to the regional final where they will face 8th-ranked Cedar Rapids Xavier.

FOREST CITY — #4 Forest City dropped their Class 3A Region 3 championship game on Saturday night, losing to an unranked West Marshall team 51-48 in Forest City. The Indians end their season with a 23-2 record. West Marshall now faces top-ranked Mount Vernon in the Class 3A state quarterfinals next Monday at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

ESTHERVILLE — #11 Hampton-Dumont-CAL was no match for #6 Estherville Lincoln Central as the Midgets scored a 49-31 victory in the Class 3A Region 6 championship game on Saturday night. Hampton-Dumont-CAL ends their season with a record of 21-3. Estherville Lincoln Central is the #5 seed in the state tournament and will face fourth-seeded Cherokee in a Class 3A state quarterfinal next Monday.
