MASON CITY — Mason City High opens Class 4A Substate 4 play by hosting Marshalltown tonight. The Riverhawks are 9-12 after ending the regular season with losses to Des Moines East, Gilbert, and #2/3A Decorah.
Marshalltown comes in with a 6-14 record and lost their last two to Des Moines North and Des Moines Lincoln. The teams split the season series with each team picking up a win on their home court, Mason City a 64-42 win on December 19th, while Marshalltown won 40-27 on January 21st in Marshalltown.
You can listen to the Mason City-Marshalltown game tonight on 98.7 KISS Country and watch the game on northiowanow.com starting with the pre-game at about 6:45 with the tipoff slated for 7 o’clock. The winner of this game travels to 2nd-ranked Linn-Mar on Friday night.
The other side of the six-school bracket has Cedar Rapids Washington at Waterloo West tonight, with the winner traveling to West Des Moines Dowling on Friday.
