Clear Lake boys host Vinton-Shellsburg in 3A substate semifinal tonight

CLEAR LAKE — The Clear Lake boys basketball team hosts Vinton-Shellsburg tonight in the Class 3A Substate 3 semifinal round.

The top-ranked Lions cruised to a 74-27 win over Hampton-Dumont-CAL in Monday night’s quarterfinal round, while the Vikings improved to 10-13 on the season after edging Center Point-Urbana 68-64.

You can hear tonight’s Clear Lake and Vinton-Shellsburg game on 103.7 The Fox and see it on northiowanow.com starting with the pre-game at about 6:45, with the tipoff slated for 7 o’clock.

The other semifinal has Solon hosting Nevada. The winners of the semifinals meet on Monday, and if Clear Lake wins this evening, they will host the substate championship game.
