Clear Lake rolls past Vinton-Shellsburg to advance to Class 3A boys basketball substate final

CLEAR LAKE — Clear Lake has once again advanced to the substate championship game after beating Vinton-Shellsburg 75-32 in the Class 3A Substate 3 semifinal round last night in Clear Lake, as you heard on 103.7 The Fox and saw on northiowanow.com. The top-ranked Lions never trailed in the contest, leading 26-11 after the first quarter and expanding that lead to 45-18 at the half. Clear Lake coach Jeremey Ainley says his team came out focused.
Clear Lake had four players score in double figures, led by Jaxson McIntire who had 13, Thomas Meyer had 12, Carson Riser had 11 and Max Larson added 10. Clear Lake improves to 23-0 on the season and will host Solon in the Class 3A Substate 3 championship game on Monday night starting at 7 o’clock, with our pre-game starting at about 6:40 PM on 103.7 The Fox and northiowanow.com. Solon needed overtime to beat Nevada 69-59 in the other substate semifinal.
