KENSETT — A St. Ansgar teen is dead after a fatal one-vehicle crash in Worth County.
The Iowa State Patrol says they were dispatched at about 6:40 AM Saturday to the intersection of 410th Street and Killdeer Avenue in between Kensett and Interstate 35 in Worth County.
The Patrol says a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Blair Hansen of St. Ansgar was traveling eastbound on 410th when he lost control and entered the north ditch, striking a power pole and coming to rest in the ditch. The passenger in the car, 16-year-old Ayden Steele, died as a result of the accident.
The State Patrol was assisted by the Worth County Sheriff’s Office, the Kensett and Northwood fire departments, Northwood EMS, MercyOne Airmed and Alliant Energy.
