DES MOINES — The girls state tournament was delayed last night for about 20 minutes as Wells Fargo Arena was evacuated after a fire alarm sounded at halftime of the Estherville Lincoln Central and Cherokee game. The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union said in a social media post that there was an issue with a concession stand and malfunctioning ventilation system that set off the alarm. Des Moines fire officials requested that people be evacuated from the building while they determined the cause of the alarm going off.
