WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump will stand before a joint session of Congress tonight to give an accounting of his first weeks in office.
Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley says he hopes Trump will address agriculture at some point of his speech. “I sure want him to talk about agriculture, such an important part of our economy. Talking about it gives presidential support for the family farmers of America, who are only 2% of the people in this country but we produce the food for the other 98%. It’s pretty important that they be uplifted, and this is a wonderful opportunity for the president to do this. At the same time, educate the 98% of the people that eat all of this food that they need to appreciate the family farmer.”
Trump is set to address Congress at 8 o’clock Iowa time tonight.
