Some roads impassable in north-central Iowa heading into Wednesday afternoon
MASON CITY — Travel is NOT BEING ADVISED, and in some areas, authorities are reporting that roads are impassable due to the blizzard that continues to impact north-central Iowa.
Just before news time these roads were impassable according to the Iowa DOT:
— State Highway 9 between Forest City and Swea City
— US Highway 18 between Clear Lake and Algona
— US Highway 169 from Algona to Humboldt, as well as between State Highway 3 and Bancroft
Most areas are still seeing roads completely covered with snow and seeing blowing snow across the roads, with some roads in and around as well as north and northeast of the Mason City-Clear Lake area listed as completely covered with ice and reduced visibility.

There were several locations dealing with power outages this morning. Hancock County was reporting about 80% of customers in Hancock County were without grid power.
