Vincent Copas, 66, of Mason City

Vincent Arthur Copas, 66, of Mason City, passed away on March 10, 2025, at
MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Vincent was born on May 5, 1958, in Britt, Iowa, to Clifton Charles and Virginia
Maxine (Johnson) Copas. He graduated from Clear Lake High School. After
graduation, he entered the trades industry, working for Lake Equipment for many
years until his health led him to retirement.
On April 15, 1978, Vincent married JoAnn Symonds, and together they were
blessed with three children.
Vincent had a natural talent for sketching and loved drawing cars, trucks, and
motorcycles—always adding his signature flames. A devoted NASCAR fan, he
also enjoyed riding his bicycle and spent time on a bowling league. Known for his
great sense of humor, Vincent could always bring a smile to those around him.
He is survived by his children, Heather, Adrian, and Samantha Copas;
grandchildren, Zoe, Rylee, Brooklyn, Breven, Ryden, Grayson, and Charlotte; his
former wife, JoAnn Copas; mother-in-law, Karen Symonds; siblings, Edward
(Kolene) Copas, Diana Allen, Douglas (Jo) Copas, Altha (Andy) Garfin, Greg
(Deb) Copas, Phillip Copas, and Monica (Don) VerHelst. He also leaves behind
many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Vincent was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Virginia Copas-Baxter;
his sister, Louetta Best; and his brothers, Tim and Tom Copas.
