Mason City man pleads not guilty to continued child sexual abuse charge

MASON CITY — A Mason City man has pleaded not guilty to a sexual abuse charge.
A criminal complaint states 34-year-old Jeremiah Estrada engaged in three or more acts of sexual abuse with a 12-year-old victim over a timespan between March 1st of last year up until last month while living in Mason City.
Estrada has been charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child, a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
He was due in court for his arraignment hearing on Monday, but court records show he filed a written plea of not guilty on Friday in Cerro Gordo County District Court. His trial has been scheduled to start on April 8th.
Estrada continues to be held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on a total of $25,000 cash-only bond.
