Former Crystal Lake man accused of child sexual abuse enters into plea agreement
CRYSTAL LAKE — A former Crystal Lake man accused of sexual abuse has pleaded guilty as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors.
34-year-old Napoleon Campos, who now lists his address as Ankeny, was originally charged with four counts of third-degree sexual abuse of a child victim, each charge a Class C felony punishable by up to ten years in prison. A criminal complaint stated that Campos between March 2022 and March 2024 committed multiple sexual acts with an underage girl as well as showed her pornographic material more than once.
Campos last week pleaded guilty to one count of lascivious acts with a minor, also a Class C felony. As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors say they’ll recommend a ten year prison sentence when Campos is sentenced on May 13th.
