NIACC’s Berger wins Graceland Spring Invitational
MARYVILLE, MISSOURI — For a second straight season, a NIACC men’s golfer won the Graceland Spring Invitational. Bennett Berger shot rounds of 75 and 73 to claim the medalist honors at the Mozingo Lake Golf Course in Maryville Missouri on Saturday. Berger’s 148 was five shots better than a trio of Southwestern golfers who finished as runners-up. NIACC was fifth in the team standings with a 638. Southwestern won the team title with a 614, while Buena Vista was second with a 626. Also for NIACC, Garrett Ham had a 153, Ashtin Willms shot a 159, and Gavin Anderson a 168. The NIACC men return to action this coming weekend at the Upper Iowa Invitational in Waterloo
== On the women’s side, freshman Meghan DeLong placed fourth with a two-round total of 167. Park University’s Anna Corsen was the medalist with a 157. Park won the team title with a 655, while NIACC was fifth with a 775. Also for the Trojans, Addy Boell shot a 194, Ashlyn Berven had a 207, while Danielle Randick had a 210. The NIACC women return to action on Thursday at the Hawkeye Community College Spring Invitational in Waterloo.
