Charles City man sentenced to 25 years after conviction on child sexual abuse charges

CHARLES CITY — A Charles City man convicted of child sexual abuse has been sentenced to prison.

38-year-old Charles Fisher was arrested last March after the Charles City Police Department filed a criminal complaint stating that Fisher sexually abused a minor girl he was watching at his house sometime in late January 2024. A Floyd County jury in December convicted Fisher of one count of second-degree sexual abuse and one count of lascivious acts with a child.

District Judge Chris Foy sentenced Fisher to 25 years in prison on the sexual abuse charge and ten years in prison on the lascivious acts charge, with the sentences to be served at the same time.
