STACYVILLE — The preliminary hearing is scheduled to be held tomorrow for a Stacyville man facing drug charges.
A criminal complaint states that a search warrant was executed at the apartment of 43-year-old Tyler Schafer back on June 12th.
Authorities say that illegal narcotics were seized from the residence that were found in an eyeglass case on the floor beside Schafer’s bed. The Division of Criminal Investigation lab says the narcotics were positive for 18.31 grams of methamphetamine.
Also seized during the search were multiple pipes used for inhaling illegal controlled substances and multiple packages containing what was later identified as marijuana. Schafer was previously convicted for possession of marijuana in Cerro Gordo County in 2021.
Schafer was arrested last Thursday after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He’s been charged with a Class B-level controlled substance violation as well as possession of a controlled substance second offense and failure to affix a drug tax stamp.
Schafer is due in court for his preliminary hearing on Friday.
