NIACC roundup from Thursday April 3rd — DeLong wins Hawkeye CC Spring Shootout

WATERLOO — NIACC freshman Meghan DeLong won the Hawkeye Community College Spring Shootout in Waterloo on Thursday. The Clear Lake freshman shot a 78 to pick up the medalist honors. Addy Boell shot an 86 and placed fifth. NIACC as a team finished second with a 350, seven shots behind team champion DMACC.
ESTHERVILLE — The 15th-ranked NIACC softball team swept Iowa Lakes on Thursday 15-3 in six innings and 12-0 in five innings. Macy Kellar fired a two-hit shutout in the nightcap. NIACC is now 20-10 overall and 5-1 in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference. The Trojans travel to Hawkeye Community College on Saturday for a conference doubleheader.
CLARION — The NIACC baseball team was swept by Ellsworth on Thursday in a doubleheader played in Clarion. The Panthers scored a pair of 10-2 victories. NIACC drops to 12-19 overall and 5-7 in the conference. The Trojans host DMACC in a three-game weekend series that starts with a doubleheader this afternoon and wraps up with a single game on Sunday.
