Meservey man pleads not guilty to sexual abuse charges in Hancock County

KANAWHA — A Meservey man facing over 35 years in prison on sexual abuse charges in Hancock County has pleaded not guilty.

32-year-old Hervin Santos Galeano was taken into custody in early March after an investigation. A criminal complaint states that Kanawha police attended three different interviews at the Allen Child Protection Center in Waterloo during the first week of March, where a child under the age of 12 disclosed that Santos Galeano allegedly committed numerous sexual acts.

Santos Galeano was charged with: second-degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison; lascivious acts with a child, a Class C felony; as well as dissemination and exhibition of obscene material to minors, a serious misdemeanor.

Santos Galeano has filed a written plea of not guilty in Hancock County District Court. His trial is scheduled to start on April 30th.
