MASON CITY — A Mason City man has been jailed on child sexual abuse charges.
Criminal complaints filed in Cerro Gordo County District Court state that 40-year-old Darwin Lopez Palma has been charged with four counts of second-degree sexual abuse for various incidents involving an underage female between May 30th of last year and April 1st of this year.
Lopez Palma was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail on Friday where he’s being held on a total of $100,000 cash-only bond. He’s due in court for his preliminary hearing on April 15th.
Second-degree sexual abuse is a Class B felony, with each charge punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
