#16 NIACC drops softball doubleheader to #7 DMACC

MASON CITY — The 16th-ranked NIACC softball team dropped a doubleheader to 7th-ranked DMACC on Wednesday in Mason City.
DMACC won the opener 4-2. Katie Riesselman hit a solo home run for NIACC in the sixth inning.
In the nightcap, DMACC scored two in the second, two in the third and one in the fourth and held on for a 6-3 win. All of NIACC’s runs came in the fifth inning on a three-run home run by Makayla Wirkus.
NIACC drops to 22-14 overall and 7-5 in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference. They’ll return to action right away this afternoon hosting Iowa Western.
