Thursday April 10 high school roundup — Clear Lake boys win Nevada Coed track
NEVADA — Clear Lake won the boys team title at the Nevada Coed track meet on Thursday. The Lions crowned five champions as they edged the host Cubs in the team standings, 142 to 137. Ballard was third with 112 points. Placing first individually were Owen Smith in the 800 as well as Sam Howland in the high jump. Clear Lake also picked up wins in the 4×100, 4×200, and Sprint Medley relays. Alex Kerr finished third in the 100 meters but his 10.91 broke a 26-year-old school record in the event, besting Tim Secory’s mark in 1999.
== The Clear Lake girls finished third with 129 points. Forest City won the team title with 142 points, with Roland-Story finishing second with 137. Reese Brownlee won the 400 hurdles while Rebekah Steinbron won the 800. The Lions also picked up relay wins in the 4×100 and 4×400.

MARSHALLTOWN — The Mason City High boys finished fifth at the Kenny Dean Relays in Marshalltown on Thursday afternoon. Ankeny Centennial won the meet with 411 ½ points, Southeast Polk was second with 200, while Mason City had 99 ½ points. EAGLE GROVE — Algona won the Eagle Grove Lady Eagle Relays on Thursday afternoon with 134 points. Garner-Hayfield-Ventura was second with 80 points, while St. Edmond was third with 74. Newman finished 10th with four points.
