Sukup Manufacturing announces expansion of Ames operations

SHEFFIELD — Sheffield-based Sukup Manufacturing is expanding their Ames operations.
The maker of grain storage, drying, and handling equipment says they will remain in the Iowa State University Research Park for its Ames operations, but they are changing locations to give the company an opportunity to nearly double the location’s growth.
Sukup officials say the location is home to the Synk Hub and will serve as a central point for evolving company culture and expanding the recruitment funnel for top engineering and technology talent. They say this next-generation workplace will provide a modern, technology-driven environment that enhances collaboration across all Sukup entities.
Chief Administrative Officer Emily Schmitt says from innovation and research through the many Iowa State University resources, to supporting product development, assembly, and testing, the company believes this growth will strengthen their connection and collaboration between Sheffield, Ames and Des Moines.
