Mason City man accused of burglarizing northeastern Mason City home

MASON CITY — A Mason City man has been jailed on a burglary charge.

42-year-old Boe Dwine was arrested on Tuesday. He’s accused of entering a home in the 600 block of 11th Northeast on Tuesday morning which he had been previously banned from earlier this year. A criminal complaint states that while inside the home, he punched the resident and victim on the mouth causing swelling and bleeding. Dwine then allegedly punched the victim on the back of the head two or three times and pulled the victim’s hair, causing injury.

Dwine has been charged with first-degree burglary, a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years, as well as purposely interfering with a 9-1-1 call. He’s being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on $25,000 cash-only bond.

He’s due in court for his preliminary hearing on April 25th.
