Clear Lake City Council to hold public hearing, consider approval of FY 2026 budget this evening

CLEAR LAKE — The City Council in Clear Lake tonight will conduct a public hearing and then consider approving the city’s Fiscal Year 2026 budget that starts on July 1st.
Acting City Administrator Jacob Widman in a memo to the council says the proposed tax rate for the upcoming fiscal year is proposed to remain steady at $9.85 per $1000 taxable valuation.
Widman says factoring in an overall growth in valuations seen, the resulting estimated property tax impact for a property owner with a $200,000 home is an increase of $31 for the year.
The council meets at 5:30 this evening at City Hall.
