No injuries reported after Mason City apartment explosion

MASON CITY — No one was injured after an explosion at a Mason City apartment over the weekend.
The Mason City Fire Department says they were called to 3 North Connecticut Avenue shortly before 9:30 Friday night, where fire crews on arrival found the front window shattered and damage inside the apartment, but no fire. The tenant and a friend were inside the apartment at the time of the explosion and escaped injury.
The cause of the explosion was ruled accidental from improper storage of flammable containers.
