NIACC women’s golf in third place after first day of district tournament
ANKENY — The NIACC women’s golf team is in third place after the first day of the two-day NJCAA North Plains District Tournament being held at the Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny.
The Trojans shot a first-day total of 349 and sit nine shots back of the co-leaders DMACC and Iowa Central.
Freshman Meghan DeLong of Clear Lake is in third place heading into today’s final round after shooting an 82 on Monday. She sits five shots back of the leader, Iowa Central’s Ivanna Becerra-Diaz, who fired a 77 on Monday.
Also for NIACC, Paige Danger fired an 87, Kenedee Frayne an 88, Addy Boell a 92 and Ashlyn Berven a 98.
The top three teams and top three individuals not on the top three teams qualify for the NJCAA Division II National Tournament May 12th through the 15th in Boone.
