NIACC women’s golf team qualifies for national tournament for first time since 2013

ANKENY — The NIACC women’s golf team has qualified for the national tournament for the first time since 2013 after placing third as the NJCAA North Plains District Tournament on Tuesday at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny.
The Trojans finished the two-day tournament with a score of 705. DMACC was the district champion with a 670 while Iowa Central was second with a 678.
All three teams will compete in the NJCAA Division II national tournament May 12th through the 15th in Boone.
Freshman Meghan DeLong finished tied for third in the individual medalist competition with a 162. Sophomore Paige Danger placed eighth with a 176.
