North-central Iowa congresswoman Hinson says she’s not running for governor

WASHINGTON — North-central Iowa congresswoman Ashley Hinson says she is not going to consider running for governor.
Hinson posted on her campaign Facebook page on Tuesday that many people had been in contact with her encouraging her to consider running for governor, but she says after prayer and conversation with family and friends, she’s decided to stay focused on her mission in Washington.
Hinson says there’s a “unique, once-in-a-generation opportunity to make real, lasting change in our country right now, and I’m committed to the fight to make Washington run more like Iowa. I am also committed to electing a conservative Governor in Iowa.” She says she’ll be out on the campaign trail doing everything she can to help keep Iowa the best place in the world to call home.
Governor Kim Reynolds announced earlier this spring that she will not seek reelection in the November 2026 election.
