WASHINGTON — North-central Iowa congresswoman Ashley Hinson is thanking the Trump administration for issuing an emergency waiver earlier this week to allow the sale of E15 nationwide during the summer driving season this year.
Hinson says while she finds the waiver process frustrating, she hopes a bill allowing E15 sales year-round and nationwide could get through Congress someday soon. “I will continue working with the administration and my colleagues here in Congress to expand the use of biofuels. I see this as American energy dominance getting a permanent solution across the finish line because that would really benefit producers and also really let consumers drive this choice.”
Had the waiver not been issued, retailers in most states would have had to stop selling E15 gasoline on May 1st.
