NIACC baseball team’s season comes to end, drop two of three at Northeast

NORFOLK, NEBRASKA — The NIACC baseball team dropped two of three games in their final series of the regular season at Northeast Community College over the weekend.
Northeast took Saturday’s opener 7-6 in eight innings but NIACC bounced back in the nightcap 6-2, scoring four runs in the sixth and two in the seven. Caden Watson picked up a complete-game victory, striking out seven, allowing four hits and three walks.
On Sunday, Northeast scored three in the eighth to pick up a 13-11 win.
NIACC closed out the regular season with a record of 18-34 and finished 11-22 in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference. The Trojans did not qualify for the Region 11 Division II baseball tournament later this week in Carroll.
