Charles City’s city administrator chosen for Clear Lake city administrator job

CLEAR LAKE — The City of Clear Lake has announced their new city administrator. Steven Diers has been Charles City’s city administrator since 2014.

The city announced late this afternoon that Diers has officially accepted an offer for the position, pending formal approval by the City Council at their May 19th meeting. A written news release from the city says Diers emerged as the top candidate for the position following a thorough and competitive selection process, bringing extensive experience in local government leadership, strategic planning, and community engagement.

Mayor Nelson Crabb says the city is excited about the opportunity to bring Diers on board, saying the city council was impressed with his background, leadership style and vision for the future of Clear Lake.

If approved, Diers will begin his new job duties on July 7th, overseeing daily city operations, coordinating with department heads, and working with elected officials to implement policy and serve the needs of residents.
