NIACC women’s golf sits in sixth place at national tournament after day one
BOONE — The NIACC women’s golf team is in sixth place after the first day of the NJCAA Division II national tournament at Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone.
The Trojans shot a season-best 336 on the opening day. Shelton State of Alabama is the first-day leader at 311 while Mesa of Arizona is six shots behind in second place. Iowa Central is third with a 327.
Trojan freshman Megan DeLong opened with a round of 79, putting her in a tie for 12th place along with three other golfers. Freshman Ashlyn Berven and sophomore Paige Danger are tied for 29th with rounds of 84.
