CHARLES CITY — It’s ten years in prison for a Mason City man who entered an Alford plea to a sexual abuse charge in Floyd County.
33-year old Joshua Jasso was charged last August with third-degree sexual abuse of a child. A criminal complaint states that Jasso performed a sexual act with a 15-year-old female within the city limits of Nora Springs on or about April 2nd of last year.
Jasso entered an Alford plea to the charge as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors in February. With an Alford plea, a person does not admit guilt but acknowledges there is enough evidence for a likely conviction.
District Judge DeDra Schroeder on Monday sentenced Jasso to ten years in prison
