NIACC’s Thomas places seventh in national long jump
HUTCHINSON KANSAS — NIACC sophomore Terrence Thomas placed seventh in the long jump at the NJCAA Division I national track and field championships in Hutchinson Kansas. Thomas earned All-American honors with a leap of 23 feet, 4 inches. It’s the second straight season that Thomas has earned All-American honors after finishing third in last year’s national meet.
Also on Thursday, Quinton Ellis broke his own school record in the 400 preliminary to qualify for Saturday’s finals, with a time of 46.38.
NIACC’s 4×100 relay team also broke a school record in the 4×100 prelims and placed 16th.
