Clear Lake City Council to approve appointment of Diers as next City Administrator

CLEAR LAKE — The City Council in Clear Lake tonight is scheduled to vote on formally approving the appointment of Steven Diers as the next City Administrator.
The city earlier this month announced that the current Charles City city administrator accepted an offer for the position, pending formal council approval. Mayor Nelson Crabb says in a memo to the council that the employment agreement has been carefully reviewed and represents a fair and competitive offer consistent with professional standards.
According to the agreement, Diers will have an annual salary of $172,000, and after a six-month satisfactory performance would increase to $177,000 on January 1st.
The council meets tonight at 5:30 at Clear Lake City Hall.
