MASON CITY — South Winneshiek’s Cale Kleppe fired a 70 to win the medalist honors at the Class 1A boys district golf tournament at Highland Park in Mason City on Monday. Kleppe led his team to the team title as well with a 319. South Hamilton was second with 335, while West Fork finished third with a 340. Looking at other area teams, St. Ansgar was sixth with a 354, and Newman and Nashua-Plainfield were tied for 11th with a 389.
LAKE MILLS — Ridge View won the Class 2A boys district golf tournament at the Rice Lake Golf & Country Club in Lake Mills yesterday with a team score of 320. They were led by medalist Kellen Clausen, who had a 68. Aplington-Parkersburg was the team runner-up with 323. Individually, Austin Stene of Lake Mills and Heath Voigt of Osage finished in a tie for third with a 77 and will advance to the state tournament.
WAVERLY — Carson Gallup of Charles City qualified for the Class 3A state tournament after finishing fourth at the 3A boys district meet in Waverly on Monday. Gallup had a five-over 75. The host Waverly-Shell Rock won the team title with a 299, while Knoxville finished second with a 313.
