Michael A. Bird, 62 of Northwood

Michael A. Bird, 62 of Northwood and formerly Manly joined his wife, Judy in Heaven on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
His family will honor his life privately. He will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Manly, IA.
Michael Allen Bird was born August 1, 1962 in Mason City, the son of James and Karen E. (Henaman) Bird. Growing up in Manly, Mike attended North Central High School, graduating in 1980. For many years, Mike worked at Kensett Homes, and later began his career at Minnesota Rubber, where he worked for over thirty years until his retirement. On April 1, 1989, he married the love of his life, Judy Lynn Aves at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The couple’s greatest blessing was their son, Will, who was born January 28, 1996.
Mike was a dedicated Minnesota Vikings Fan. In his younger days he looked forward to time spent outdoors, whether he was hunting, fishing, or even just watching the birds. Mike had his own personal sense of humor, and there was kindness in everything he did. He was constantly looking out for others and would give the shirt off his back to help someone he loved.
Surviving are his cherished son, Will and his fiancé, Alyssa of Waterloo; his mother, Karen Henaman; siblings, Rick (Tammy) Bird of Manly, and Sue (Wayne) Field of Mason City; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy who passed November 26, 2012; father, James Bird; and father-in-law, Ray Aves.
